by far, my favorite morning.
The location of Santa Maria de Pazzis Cemetery is central to the Puerto Rican belief in the separation of death and life. According to Rafael Rodríguez, Chaplain and director of pastoral services at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazon, the Spanish colonial government viewed death with fear because it was a mystery. Therefore, they decided to build the cemetery to overlook the Atlantic Ocean to symbolize the spirit’s journey to cross over to the afterlife (Thanks Wikipedia).

Santa María Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery.
This colonial era cemetery, named for Mary Magdalene sits by the Atlantic Ocean and the 16th century citadel, Morro Castle.
Without sleeping the night before, we climbed the cemetery gates, at sunrise.
I cannot imagine a more peaceful resting place.

over 200 in san juan, puerto rico joined the fight.

On Thursday February 21st Arcade Asheville hosted “Product of the 80s,” an Asheville fashion showcase benefiting the Asheville Affiliates.
Sarah Merrell did a lovely job organizing this event. A true homage to all 80s kids.
